Jigsaw falling into place

Installation of Clemens Hollerer

OUR LOBBY,
A WORK OF ART.

The name of the installation in our lobby says it all: "Jigsaw falling into place". It fits like a puzzle piece into the history of the Wiesler, which might surprise you.

Clemens Hollerer, a Styrian by birth who is largely known on the international stage, uses this architectural installation to make a bold statement of contemporary art in his home province. Of course we couldn't be more pleased that our hotel serves as the backdrop. His complex structure of enamel-painted wood, which forms a symbiotic relationship with our Art Nouveau walls, has been on display in the Wiesler foyer since late 2016 – and we can't imagine the foyer without it.

JIGSAW FALLING

INTO PLACE

DEPARTURE

It's entirely intentional. Topics like destruction and departure are common themes of Hollerer's works.

There's a reason why he usually chooses photos of catastrophic situations as inspiration for his work. What perhaps looks like a parasitic installation at first, which Hollerer himself describes as an "unwanted guest", is a welcome addition to a hotel like the Wiesler. It's the unconventional things that surprise our guests. That has been our trademark since the beginning.
